Berta Fischer is a contemporary German sculptor based in Berlin who works in plastics. Acrylic glass, PVC and other plastics are cut by a computer-controlled laser and finished by hand. She cuts and heats the sheets into forms that hold light inside them. In Okomol, from 2024, strips of blue, green and clear overlap.

Her work is held by the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich. Her solo shows run from 1998 to 2024, with return visits to galleries in Berlin, Hamburg, New York and Copenhagen. In 2023 the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt included her in Plastic World.
